"Preserving the History and Prehistory of Kansas"

Kansas Anthropological Association LogoThe Kansas Anthropological Association (KAA) is a non-profit organization of amateur and professional archeologists. Established in 1955, KAA has become a large and active group whose diverse members share a common interest in the prehistoric and historic peoples of the Central Plains. Opportunities are available to participate in field schools and other educational and social events. For many years the KAA has had a close working relationship with the Kansas State Historical Society (KSHS) Archeology Office. Each June the KSHS and KAA cosponsor the Kansas Archeology Training Program (KATP).

There are several KAA membership categories. Membership dues are: Individual - $22.00; Family - $25.00; Student - $5.00 (KATP only, June-August); Subscription - $25.00 (publications only); Contributing - $30.00; and Life - $400.00. Unless otherwise indicated, KAA memberships run from January through December. Members receive newsletters and an annual journal (The Kansas Anthropologist) with articles about Kansas archeology and ethnology. Checks should be made payable to the Kansas Anthropological Association. The KAA mailing address is:
